Volunteer Help
This was
the "plan" going into the NATS, however many others volunteered and helped
as needed. I will update this list when I get some more time, but for
now suffice to say "Thanks" to ALL who helped. Without their help, the NATS would not have run as smooth as it did
A big "Thank
You" goes out to all who have volunteered to assist me in running the
NATS / USOC. Your timely replies to my quest for volunteers has
resulted in what I would call the "A Team", and I am
truly looking forward to administrating the NATS / USOC with there help!
The Event Director positions are filled, thanks to all
who have volunteered for these!
However, I could still use additional help at Central Scoring
and Processing: As you can see below, I am am a little light in
terms of volunteers who have committed for Model Processing on Tuesday morning.
Also, If anyone still wants to volunteer to help out in general, please contact me.
I am sure I can find something for you to do assisting those already in
place, especially the event directors who will more than likely be
flying their events from a different flight line.. There may be a
few people who can not show, due to travel issues, etc, so it would be
good to know who else might fill in if this happens.
Below is a summary of those who have stepped forward to volunteer,
again, they are my "A-team"
Event Directors:
These events will more than likely be flown from their own
separate flight lines somewhat apart from the Central Scoring and
Processing area where all other events will be run.

Additional Job Specific
Volunteers:
NATS Free Flight Manager: Phil Sullivan, let's be fair,
Phil has been the behind the scenes man as far as this years NATS.
He has interfaced with the AMA running the entire pre-entry with the AMA
and taking care of many of the things that would otherwise make being
the CD difficult, especially being from out of town. Thanks Phil!
FAI Coordinator: Charlie Jones, his duties along with
will be limited to being a part of the daily decision of where to set up
the FAI flight lines. And and if needed, a part of the decisions
to move them as conditions change. The FAI event directors and
myself will also be a part of the decision of where to place the flight
lines.
FAI Jury: I will appoint a FAI Jury daily using
qualified FAI flyers on there non-flying days. A list of Jury members
will be posted each day, for the FAI events run that day, at the Central
Scoring area.
NATS News Reporter: Elizabeth Johnson will be filling
this slot. Many of you know her as my older daughter Beth.
She has long been wanting to return to a NATS, but our previous
scheduled time slot of early to mid August did not allow this as she is
a school teacher and her school years already started.
